A COLD DAY

The cold weather returned yesterday. It was only 0°C but the strong cold wind made it feel more like -20°C
The ice on the lake is breaking up rapidly so we know that the lake will be free of ice in the next week or two, which will probably be a record. The strong blue colour emphasizes the feel of cold while the warm colour of the rock promises that Spring is close.

I love the layered parfait look of this photo and the blues are so cool and refreshing.
Glad to see the ice is leaving - I have a fishing trip booked up on Kiosk in a month and am hoping the ice is gone by then! (Last year it wasn't, believe it or not!)

I find this a great time of the year for abstract and realistic landscape photos of ice. It's constantly changing.
