VIEW OF NEW YORK

I took this picture through the fabric of a window blind on Ellis Island. This is the view immigrants would see before embarking for the mainland. I can imagine, as an immigrant myself, the excitement but also the anxiety of what the future would bring.

The screen gives the image a canvas like texture. Nice! I cannot even begin to imagine what it would be like to immigrate to another country. Most of us find it somewhat traumatic to move to another strange city. We take so much for granted. Thanks, Dave

Yes, I see what David Brown says.
I can't imagine the feeling involved. They do say though, that generations later still have that 'feeling' within their bodies, left over from their grand-grand parents. I still have dreams, of being over in Ault,France, and part of the Netherlands where my grand parents parents lived, and had to flee from; They had so much upheavel.
Your photograph Mike, depicts feelings perhaps felt by these immigrants.
I do take so much for granted.
Appreciated your photograph.

this is wonderful. One of the many places I hope to visit one day.
