FOUR BRICKS

Composition with four bricks. The original was in colour but, after some study, I decided to turn the image into a monochromatic picture. Then I brought back the colour in the bricks to make them prominent in the composition and I liked the result. It definitely made the image visually stronger.

Along with Rob, I like this submission, Mike.
Reminds me a bit of Edward Weston.

Actually David, it is not so much Edward Weston as I am very interested lately in the work of Irving Penn. He created very strong images from nondescript subject matter like crushed pop cans, discarded plastic coffee cups and ,my favourites, cigarette and cigar butts collected from the streets of New York. The platinum prints are simply exquisite.
