CUMBERLAND, ONTARIO

This picture is for Krys and Paul, who obviously enjoy old architectural buildings like this restaurant in Cumberland. David Ernst will enjoy the image because he truly likes rich black and white pictures. I think this building dates from between  1880 and 1890. Personally I find it somewhat overdone and obviously some changes have been made but the overall architecture has been largely preserved.

Beautiful tonal range in this B&W Mike! Colour is wonderful, but nothing beats B&W for architectural shots. Can you imagine painting all of those spindles? Love it! Dave

Thanks! That is quite a building! I agree it isn't especially tasteful but preserving the past certainly adds to the interest of the urban landscape and hopefully stops
us from repeating some of the more painful mistakes ;-)
