I have been away in Ottawa for the Easter weekend. Did not take many pictures but when I passed a farm just outside of the city I could not resist photographing these chicken coops.
Again I did not post for a few days. Here is a picture of a closeup of an antique kettle. I noticed how the sunlight intensified the colour. The result is a very tactile image.
A gentle reminder this morning that Winter had not left yet. Waking up this morning I looked outside and surprise, more snow. At least it wont be around for long.
One of my favourite artworks at the national gallery in Ottawa is Ron Mueck's realistic sculpture of a baby's head. The size of the head is simply startling. The work just fascinates me.
I am always attracted to windows. This one I saw at a plant here in North bay. I liked the dripping paint. Maybe its the painterly effect of the image which I enjoy.
It has been awhile since I posted my last image. Spring is here now I took this picture in a parking lot but it symbolizes the beginning of Spring. Light and water are the basics of life. The image resembles pictures from the universe. Hope you like it too.
Another image of the old house I photographed yesterday. In a way it is a pity that the place will be destroyed by the elements and simple neglect. Of course you cannot keep everything but, there are fewer and fewer of these houses around.
This morning I visited an old abandoned homestead. I always wonder about the history of these old homes. This place is ready to collapse soon the only trace left will be the few pictures I took.
I have to celebrate the first day of Spring with a early Spring picture. I know its still too early to see the maples bloom but here it is. Hope you like it.
Yesterday I visited the Highway Book Store in Cobalt. The bookstore is actually just outside of the town but is a well known source for second hand books. It is a ramshackle place which, besides the books of course, gives this store its unique atmosphere. What interested me was the perspective and the texture of the books, which made a very colourful abstract image.
I have been busy the last few days so I have neglected my blog. Well the Winter is still around so here another black and white picture of fog and snow. Another two days and Spring will be officially here. I like to thank Kim in Tirana, who posted a very personal and thoughtful impression on my last picture.
Yesterday the warm air created some heavy fog patches along the lake. Of course it was also good for getting some strong graphic images.I photographed these trees at Sunset Park here in North Bay.
The weather changed. Today we have rain for a change. Its nice of course because it makes the snow disappear faster. The rain and fog make for some images with lots of atmosphere. This farm is just down the street where I live.
