LANDSCAPE WITH LARGE ROCK, COLOUR VERSION
When I posted the black and white image of this landscape, I think nostalgia won and I posted the monochrome version. However I liked the colour picture because the big rock had, in addition to the rich textures, quite a lot of colour.

Yes, it's similar to switching on the light and seeing a different scene.... like pulling up your darkening bedroom shade to the morning sunrise. Both interpretations have their merits, for sure. Thanks for the two versions, Mike.
Glad you like this one too David. Lately I am quite interested in the British landscape painters of the 18th and 19th century, Gainsborough, Reynolds and of course Turner. Looking at their paintings I like their palette of golden browns and yellow. I realize it's a romantic view but at this time of our history I like enjoy that. Now I should say I do like much of what is happening in art. To me that's very exciting. But, like in food, I enjoy comfort food sometimes.
