FALL POND, ASHTON, ONTARIO

We returned yesterday from a trip to Ottawa. I did take a few promising pictures. Yesterday was a very darkand wet day but I managed to get a good picture of this pond with the first signs of the Fall season. The scene reminded me of a rich tapestry of patterns and colours. It is a handheld shot so I had to use a high ISO setting simply to freeze the ripples in the water.

Very painterly. Exquisite.

With your new Leica?

Exactly Cathy, when I looked out of the window on that dark wet day I noticed the busy pattern of the yellow leafs and the rain patterns in the water, my immediate reaction was how this landscape would be a wonderful subject for a painting.
Now to answer David's question, yes I took the picture with my new small Leica D-Lux 6.
