About Me

My photo
Mike de Moree
My name is Michael de Morée, I live in North Bay Ontario where I taught photography at Canadore college, one of Ontario's community colleges, for thirty years. Taking photographs and making prints is very important to me. Photography is probably the easiest but at the same time the most difficult of all arts . I also feel that a photographer's living environment, interests and experiences dictate to a large extent the subject matter of his or her images. I remember arriving in North Bay from first a very urbanized environment in my native Holland and then from Toronto in the early seventies. It took me some time to adjust to my new environment. So many of my pictures reflect my surroundings. I still enjoy the urban landscape and love to visit various cities. Being from a different generation my pictures are very much influenced by my education in formal art and design theories. Line, shape, texture are important elements in my images. But hopefully my pictures will still interest younger generations. * To see the pictures full screen place cursor on the image and click then press F11. * All my pictures are copyrighted.
