MISSION DOLORES BASILICA, SF

What appealed to me was almost flame like movement of the branches and the Spanish Baroque architecture, which made a visually strong image. Camera, Olympus C8080W

STORE ENTRANCE, FISHERMAN'S WHARF, SF

You have to wonder why a store in a prime tourist area would place such an inviting statue at the entrance. The 50% off signs are also a very nice touch.

MAILBOXES, SAUSALITO, CA

Of course after noticing these mailboxes I couldn't resist taking a picture. The colour, pattern and the words made for an interesting shot. Obvious of course but I like it. Camera: Olympus C8080W

Sitting outside of MOMA inSan Francisco I became intrigued with the wall across the street and of course couldn't resist taking a picture.Hope you like it too.

HOBART BUILDING

I prefer the black and white image to the original colour. The image has almost abstract feel to it. Original was taken with the Olympus C8080w

SERRANO HOTEL

The Serrano Hotel , a marvelously decorated place in a pseudo Spanish decor. I just loved the rader unusual bright colour scheme of the hallways.

SAN FRANCISCO

Just before Christmas I visited San Francisco. I thoroughly enjoyed the city, especially the people, I was very impressed with their friendliness. I certainly will visit again. So here are some of my own impressions of my wanderings.

GARDEN BORDER

This is my last picture on gardens and plants. I used a Infra Red interpretation of this subject. I enjoy the lush textures and shapes of this little corner of the garden.This was photographed using a Nikon F 801-s SLR

AMARYLLIS

The subtle grey tones of this image is I feel the great attraction of this picture. Keeping the image simplee adds to the visual strength of the photograph.Again I made this image using the Olympus C8080W

ELEPHANTS EAR

The size of this plant amazed me of course the name, elephants ear is an indication of the size. The beautiful shapes of the leaves are the great visual attraction of this plant. Photographed outside with my trusted Olympus C8080c

GARDEN CORNER

What attracted me to this subject was how light and shadow made for a very textured and moody image. I used my Olympus C8080 and converted it to black and white

SPATHIPHYLLUM

I like this picture because of its simplicity. The shape and the minimal amount of colour gives this image an almost Oriental quality. Camera: Olympus C8080W

CAROLYN'S POND

Shape and texture is what interested me when I saw this pond in Carolyn's garden. The image was converted to black and white and then I added the subtle green tones to the picture. I wanted to give the impression a hand coloured image.

CROCUS

Early Spring starts in the garden with the flowering of the crocus patches. Using a macro lens and a Nikon F-801s I just moved the camera into the group of flowers. The result shows a very abstract colour image with a strong shape dominating the foreground.

PEONY

The original was photographed in colour with a Olympus C8080-W. I converted it to black and white and added a sepia tone and grain to the image. The picture has the mood of a late 19th or early 20th century print.
